AES Andes is playing a critical role in the massive build out of solar in Chile.
Blessed with some of the world’s most powerful solar radiation in its north, Chile is on a trajectory to meet 80% of its energy needs from renewables by 2030. It is also tipped to be the world’s most competitive producer of green hydrogen within 7 years, according to the International Energy Agency. If you’re considering a solar project contact us here.
As one of the main generation companies in the region, AES Andes is playing a critical role in the massive build out of solar, wind and hydro power generation that underpins this transition. When it set out to expand its 101 megawatt solar hub in the Antofagasta region, AES Andes needed a solution that could be deployed rapidly to lower construction cost and risk, and start generating faster. It used the 5B Maverick to hit a new deployment speed record of over 1 megawatt in a day with a team of 10.
