When 5B was created a decade ago, it's aim was the same as it is today: to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy to help avoid the catastrophic impacts of climate change. 

The name 5B refers to the 5 billion years of sun left. It is both a call to action and a challenge to use this immense and powerful resource more wisely to create a clean energy future for the benefit of all. This is our North Star.

Our 5B Maverick solar technology has prevented more than 299,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere. Our contribution to CO2 avoidance rises daily.

Environmental milestones:

5B is a signatory to the United Nations’ Race to Zero by 2050 but aims to achieve this much sooner as an organisation.
