Project Overview

5B will supply a ~140 MWp solar farm for Zenith Energy's landmark Eastern Goldfields Power Projects. The solar component will sit alongside BESS, wind turbines, and dual fuel engines.
This pioneering initiative will power Northern Star’s Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines (KCGM) Operations and represents Australia’s largest renewable energy project for the mining sector. 

The 5B Solution: Maverick

The project's solar solution is the Australian-made 5B Maverick solution. This unique, prefabricated technology was specifically chosen for its ability to dramatically reduce onsite labour, increase safety, and accelerate deployment. 5B’s solution allows the delivery of utility-scale power with safety, speed, and efficiency. Over 230,000 solar panels will be assembled into over 2,500 5B Mavericks at 5B's facility in Adelaide, South Australia, before being shipped
to site for installation.

This project with Zenith Energy and Northern Star is a prime example of 5B’s ability to provide a cost-effective, clean, and rapidly-deployable solar solution.
