Solution

The project is designed to create long-term value and positive impact for both the environment and local communities and will support Puerto Rico’s goal of generating 100% of its electricity from renewable energy sources by 2050. It is a milestone project in the island’s energy transition, creating a more resilient and diversified power system.

The 1396 5B Maverick arrays are engineered to withstand wind speeds up to 93m/s (335km/h or 208 miles/h) (ASCE 7-16) – an important factor for this designated hurricane-prone region. Delivery of the Maverick component of the project was completed in Q1 2026.

The total project capacity of the Jobos project is 80 MWac (contracted with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority), with a total of 110 MWdc installed solar PV capacity. 5B supplied 69 MW – more than half of the project total – towards this solar + storage project, which includes 110 MW (80 MWac) of 4-hour duration battery energy storage.
