The project is designed to create long-term value and positive impact for both the environment and local communities and will support Puerto Rico’s goal of generating 100% of its electricity from renewable energy sources by 2050. It is a milestone project for the island as it transitions to renewable energy.

The 1,396 5B Maverick arrays are engineered to withstand extreme winds in this designated hurricane-prone region, with wind speeds up to 166 mph (ASCE 7-16). Delivery commenced in Q1 2025 and is expected to be completed in Q4 2025.

The solar + storage project includes 100 MW of 4-hour duration battery energy storage.

“The high wind resilience of 5B’s Maverick solar technology and its ability to generate more power per acre offers a solution that can enhance reliability and maximize land use. This project is another example of our commitment to advancing a more resilient and green energy grid for the people of Puerto Rico.”
